Latest news from 1949deal that Chinese mobile phone maker Xiaomi is reportedly getting ready for the launch of a nice range of new mobile phones in the not too distant future, including two successors of the popular Hongmi devices.

Apparently, the company might soon release a Hongmi M1S handset with the same physical design as the original device, but with a 1.7GHz MT6592 octa-core chip inside. 

The newcomer has ditched the Mediatek MT6589T SoC for a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 with 1.6GHz quad-core CPU and Adreno 305 GPU.

The Xiaomi Hongmi 1s packs a gig of RAM and 8GB of built-in memory which can be further expanded via microSD card slot. The screen is a 4.7” IPS unit with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. Out of the box, the device will boot Android 4.3 Jelly Bean dressed in Xiaomi’s MIUI V5 interface.
The camera of the Hongmi 1s is an 8MP unit with f/2.2 and LED flash, capable of capturing 1080p videos. The front-facing camera is a 1.6MP unit. Connectivity options include dual-SIM (one GSM and one WCDMA), Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, and GPS + GLONASS.

The physical measures of the Hongmi 1s are 137 x 69 x 9.9mm, while its weight tips the scale at 158 grams. The device is powered by a user-replaceable 2,000 mAh battery.
At a quick glance, the Xiaomi Hongmi 1s offers a lot of hardware for the money. The device offers beefier specs than the popular Moto G for a lot less cash.

Furthermore, a Hongmi 2 smartphone is also expected to arrive on shelves this year, with the same processor packed inside, but with a larger, 5.5-inch 720p touchscreen display, however there will be a few options to choose from including an entry-level quad-core, flagship octacore and most intriguing of all a 6-core device!

1949deal just did specification reviews of the MT6582 iOcean X7 HD, MT6592 iOcean X7S Elite and iOcean G7, but the big release will be MTK6592 iOcean X8. A very nice looking phone with it’s square style.
The battery will be a big 2700mA, RAM – 2GB, SoC will be MT6592. It will profile at 7.7mm and the screen will be 5.7″@1080p. The frame is reported to be unibody and made from magnesium alloy. Camera will be 13mp rear with support for 88 degree wide-angle shots. Front camera will be 5mp.

Regarding the battery, it appears it will be built-in. It’s an unfortunate move, and battery swappers can forget this phone.

It’s a great looking mode. The LCD will be 5.7″ and protected by Corning Gorilla Glass. We’re not 100% sure yet, but it’s rumored that the entire iOcean line for Q1 2014 may be bent towards European marketing. This will be confirmed within the next couple weeks, as the phones are set for a February release.

Lenovo announces S860, S850 and S660 range of phones vs Huawei honor 3c, huawei honor 3x from 1949deal

1949deal get the latest news that As well as Huawei Honor 3C quad core supporting multi-language, Huawei Honor 3X octa core, Lenovo has announced three new phones here at MWC 2014 including this - a new flagship handset in its S Series available in both titanium and white finishes. 

Slotting in above the S850 and S660 (which I've also checked out - be patient!) is this beauty of a handset which, like many high-end smartphones before it, promises all day batter life.
However, with a whopping 4,000Mah battery, the handset can actually live up to its claim.

Lenovo s860

Because the battery is larger than most, the S860 supports on-the-go charging of other devices using the microUSB cable that comes included with the handset.


As you can see the device has a brushed aluminum back surrounding the camera, flash and logo.
Sorry about the sticky tape that was attached to the device I photographed - the handset had been attached to the stand and I had to rip it off to take a decent look at it. And, as with everything at Mobile World Congress, the device was tethered to the booth.


Disappointingly, the large 5.3-inch screen isn't Full HD, with only a 720p resolution, but the colour reproduction on the IPS display is netherless superb. Core specs aren't staggering, but they are competitive with much of the market, with a quad-core 1.3GHz MediaTek processor joined by 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, 8 megapixel rear snapper and 1.6 megapixel front cam.


I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the snapper, which could capture some really decent shots even under the bright lights of the Lenovo booth.


The side features the familiar volume up/down and on/standby controls while the headphone jack is on top.


There's no microSD slot in the S860, but there is support for two SIM cards instead - ideal for regular travellers who need access to more than one network. You can view the network status of both SIM cards in the notifications area.


That amount of power should provide at least 24 hours of 3G talk time – but of course it's the other net-connected features that use up power on our smartphones.


Android 4.2 Jelly Bean is shipped as standard, but the Lenovo attendant suggested there was no reason why it couldn't get KitKat in future. As you'd expect there are all the familiar Android apps, but everything is presented with the typical Lenovo Android overlay.


The device also includes numerous built-in Lenovo apps for sharing between Lenovo devices, backing up your contacts and keeping your device secure.

Early verdict

The Lenovo S860 is a really lovely handset with a few features that will make it compelling to certain users - notably the dual-SIM support, long battery life and ability to charge other devices are all features to attract regular business travellers. The lack of a Full HD display is surprising compared to other models around, but isn't necessarily a disaster.
