Unboxing Review:
The Keecoo KO-01 is delivered in a two-part box: In a transparent Plexiglas dome, the camera finds itself on a stand in waterproof housing.Below sits a box in which the remaining accessories are stowed. And that’s a lot. With among which are: bicycle rack, helmet holder, tripod and mini tripod adapter, mounting strap, spare bolts and a few more. The complete overview you can see in the next image and the unboxing video. Charging cable and IPMENT are also there. The Keecoo Loading via USB, but the connection does not match any current standard: So always take care of the cable, otherwise it is complicated to find spare! Finally, you will also find a small manual and a cleaning cloth for the lens in the package. Below is an overview.

Impressions:
The Keecoo ko makes the first unpacking a good impression. The camera is (at least in my black version) held almost entirely in a single color and feels well made. On the front is the wide-angle lens, a small monochrome LCD display for the settings, the power button (also mode button) and two LEDs (for WLAN and charging state). Is the Keecoo logo at the bottom right corner.

The back is completely empty of controls. Here there is only the door to the battery compartment. The flap is easy to open, but sits during use fixed.

On the right side are the connectors of Keecoo KO. These include microSD slot, USB port (for charging) and a Micro-HDMI port.
On the left sits the WLAN button. Overall, all sides are slightly fluted (except for the front and back), what the camera gives a good grip.
The trigger can be found on the upper side
Overall, I like the processing, and the design (which, of course, very close to “similar” devices . The Keecoo KO-01 compared to its price. You can not come up with the best materials and the like, of course, but is good for the price range in the hand.
Operation:
Operation of Keecoo KO-01 is relatively simple. The cam is turned on via the power button. Then you are right in the video mode and can directly record (if a microSD card is inserted by pressing the power button can be switched through the different modes of the camera:. Single-image mode, burst mode (Multiple Images in quick succession), delayed image and settings. The settings can be navigated using wireless button and select the trigger.
Under the setting item “Clip Time” can be set, after which the old recording is overwritten recording time. Thus, the Keecoo suitable as dashcam.
To better serve the Keecoo exists an app (Android & iOS). The coupling between phone and camera is very simple: If the WLAN on the Keecoo activated by pressing a button, this is based on a wireless network. This can be connected to the mobile phone (default password: 0123456789). Then you just need to launch the app (here for Android). The following picture shows the home screen of the app.
The app offers several features. Very useful is the “Camera Preview” feature that allows a live image of the camera is streamed to the phone. This is even relatively lag arm. With this function, the camera is also suitable for small FPV applications, for example in Quadcopter area. Even current video and photo files can be copied by the app directly from the camera to your phone via Wi-Fi.
Also settings can be configured via the app. However, here is a sticking point in the operation: Some of the settings can only be set on the camera, only a part of the app and from a small part can be set by two. This is somewhat confused. An example: The “Clip Time” for continuous shooting can only be set via the settings menu of the camera. The exposure time can be set via the app. The recording resolution can be changed both in the camera and in the app again. Here, then, is still need for improvement.
Overall, the interplay between camera and mobile phone works quite well. Transfers run relatively fixed thanks WLAN and the app seems stable after a few benefits. The overall operation of the camera using the buttons is intuitive after a short familiarization. All in all, the service good in my eyes, but with deductions for setting scattered points.
Camera images:
According to the specifications sitting in Keecoo KO-01 a 12 MP image sensor. The course can not be used for video recordings, but also for simple images. Therefore, here are some pictures, which were taken at the highest resolution:
The camera images are to use entirely for snapshots. For “real” recordings but not suitable. Nice to see here is the large acceptance angle by the wide-angle lens. With brighter images, the images show a rather strong red cast.
Video & Sound:
The video quality of Keecoo is compelling for its price. With a Full HD resolution (1920 × 1080) takes you on a reasonable frame rate of 30 fps.The automatic brightness adjustment is relatively fast, strong light-dark contrasts do not copes perfectly, but more than adequate for the price in my eyes. A sample video can be found after the review videos. This I recorded using the bicycle holder (sorry for the wild steering movements
Quite unlike the video quality is the sound quality. This is very below average. Noise sources with a smaller distance than half a meter are very quiet and look very dull. If a sound source further away, so the sound is later almost imperceptible. The audio information of the video on Windows show a sampling rate of 16 kHz. That could explain the poor audio quality. That’s all I’m even surprised that at a sampling rate of 16 kHz only ever a reasonably usable audio product comes out at the end. Anyone who has ever heard of the Nyquist theorem, who knows that the sampling rate must be at least twice as high as the maximum occurring frequency. Ergo maximum frequencies can be clearly displayed to 8 kHz, then it’s over. Even stupid when you consider that the average upper limit of human hearing at almost 20 kHz  , An example of the sound you can hear in my video review.
At a Glance: Video thumbs up, thumbs down tone.
Battery:
The battery is large enough for a “normal” use. When fully charged it extends for about 2: 16h continuous recording at 1080p @ 30fps.
Housing:
Let’s start here first with the Waterproof Case. This really is tight and makes a good impression. The introduction and retrieval of the camera is done with a few simple steps. All buttons can be operated from the outside.
Quite perfect the housing is terrible. The pins, which press inside the casing on the buttons of Keecoo are quite short. Therefore, the external buttons must be pressed relatively strong. In addition, the ends of the pins are not rounded but have strong edges. Actually not so bad, however, the power button from softer plastic. The case leaves after a few times using small scratches on the button.
This is, however, only really small scratches to get over in my opinion at a Action Cam. The locking system is, however, really well implemented. The housing contracts to very strong.
So far I have the case still not subjected to underwater test. But that should change soon  , Then I will report here about my experiences ,
Conclusion:
The   Keecoo KO-01  offers a solid price / performance ratio. The video quality is impressive for its price, while the sound quality very lame. So if you with lots of accessories required for an action or sports camera and is actually only interested in pure video function (often, for example, winter sports), which should attract the Keecoo considered. Here you can get good video quality at a low price. However, if in good form can not be waived, for the Keecoo separates out.
